What to Do When a Divine Statue at Home Cracks? How Should It Be Resolved?

Many families enshrine divine statues, mostly made of wood, which often crack due to dry climate or insufficient moisture when air conditioning is used heavily in winter.

Many people consider this a purely physical phenomenon and do not take it to heart. It should be noted that regardless of whether it is a physical phenomenon, whenever it occurs naturally, it indicates that corresponding problems exist.

Therefore, when this phenomenon appears, do not underestimate it. Once a divine statue cracks, spiritual energy will not be retained, then the energy of righteous deities will disperse, and afterward evil qi will invade people.

From a feng shui perspective, the most common situation when this occurs is problems with rest at home, such as frequent sleep paralysis, people often falling ill and needing regular medication, and unexpected financial losses.

But this is not a simple feng shui problem, so at such times, it is necessary to handle it by removing the deity and dispelling evil. However, removing deities requires certain skill; without an experienced priest, one should not lightly attempt it.

The saying "easier to invite deities than to send them away" does not refer to righteous deities, but to yin evils. When the consecration method is incorrect or completely absent, what often enters the divine statue is passing spirits or yin evils. What enters depends on one's fortune.

If truly unable to resolve it for now, one can purchase a luopan (feng shui compass), place a small amount of cinnabar on the soft compass, and place it to the left of the divine statue, that is, the Azure Dragon side, to temporarily resolve the issue.

Must be careful: after using the luopan to suppress, this divine statue can no longer be worshipped with incense. One needs to find an opportunity to send it away, which can be done by delivering it to a nearby Daoist temple or to the doorway of the Earth Deity.

So how should divine statues be repaired? If it is a wooden statue, after removing the deity, one can find an experienced craftsman to repair it with wood shavings, or use some solidifying powder adhesive to repair it, then repaint it, and must definitely undergo proper re-consecration.
