Brief Reflections on True Random Numbers
Today most people use the Mersenne Twister as a PRNG. This algorithm is based on a matrix linear recurrence over a finite binary field, and further employs tempered transformations of the state bits in a twisted generalized feedback shift register (TGFSR(R)). In essence it repeatedly applies recursive calculation to produce output, and within 623 dimensions can achieve exact equidistribution of 32-bit words. Yet for my purposes it seems quite flawed: its notion of randomness may not accord with the Way of Heaven and Earth. Ancient methods of calculation both held to standards and patterns and possessed supreme numbers — such numbers extract fixed principles from the chaos of Heaven and Earth, and only with variable factors joined in calculation can certainty be attained. Pseudo-random algorithms, however, seek mere disorder and lose constancy, and that constancy is itself inherent between Heaven and Earth.

The Underworld in Shamanism (Primitive Witchcraft)
The underworld, commonly known as the netherworld in folk custom, has different names among the various ethnic minorities in the north. In the shamanistic survey materials of the Manchu-Tungusic language family, common terms include Buni, Yimukan, and others. The concept of the underworld is a companion product of the concept of the souls of the dead; the underworld is the world where the deceased spirits reside. In the more ancient shamanistic beliefs about the soul, there was no dedicated underworld or netherworld for the departed souls. On the contrary, under the constraints of the clan-based social structure, the destinations of the deceased souls were pluralistic and varied due to clan limitations—some went to the starry realm in the sky, some to the clan trees on the sacred mountains of fertility deities, and some to the divine realm where ancestral spirits dwell.
