African Dark Witchcraft Stories That Have Appeared in Newspapers

When it comes to black magic in Africa, everyone knows about it. In Zimbabwe, black magic is almost above the law, and every year in every region of Zimbabwe, there are countless stories about black magic.

Story One: Around January or February of this year, the BMETRO newspaper in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's second-largest city, published a news report about a man wanted by the police for rape. After fleeing for some time, he sneaked back home to avoid being reported. The police caught him red-handed at his house. Two police officers handcuffed his hands and walked him to the police station. On the way, the two officers suddenly realized that the handcuffed figure following them was not the rapist, but a monkey wearing handcuffs. The two officers were terrified and ran away. The rapist has since lived in his home, and no police officer has dared to arrest him again.

Story Two: In February of this year, in the HATCLIFF area on the outskirts of Harare, a school teacher rewarded good students with candy. Four children ate the candy given by the teacher. After eating it, some of the children's mouths began to protrude, resembling gorillas, while others' teeth started growing outward, looking like vampires. Later, the teacher was arrested, and the children gradually recovered under the treatment of local witches, returning to their original appearances.

Story Three: In a small town called CHITUNGWIZA on the outskirts of Harare, a second-grade elementary school girl found a 2 Rand coin on her way home from school. She used the coin to buy a small bag of food priced at 1 Rand, then put the 1 Rand change from the merchant into her schoolbag. When she got home, she found a lot of money and a letter in her schoolbag. Her parents opened the letter, which said there was approximately $5,000 in the bag, money intended for the child's funeral. After reading the letter, the parents looked at their child, who had collapsed on the ground, lifeless.

Story Four: One family woke up in the morning to find two strangers standing motionless in their house. After questioning, they learned that these were two thieves who had entered to steal. Why were they motionless? The owner of the house had experienced several thefts in the past. After running out of options, they went to a local witch doctor. The witch doctor cast spells on certain items, and the owner brought these items home, placing one in each room. From then on, they could sleep peacefully without worrying about thieves, because anyone entering illegally could only stand in place, motionless. To leave, the owner had to remove the magical item placed in the room, after which the thief would regain the ability to move.

Story Five: A teenager stole someone's phone memory card and secretly put it in his mouth. When others suspected he had stolen it and asked him, he denied it and swallowed the memory card. The person had no choice but to seek a witch doctor. After returning home, the child could not sleep all night, constantly singing and dancing, singing songs stored on the phone memory card. This continued for several days. Finally, the family had no choice but to seek a witch doctor, spending a considerable amount of money to resolve the matter.

Story Six: In early January of this year, a sensational explosion occurred in a small town called CHITUNGWIZA on the outskirts of Harare. Five or six people died in the explosion. Rumors spread widely among the people. Zimbabwe's largest newspaper, HERALD, reported it on the front page. Initially, the newspaper reported it as a criminal explosion case, but two days later, they changed their story to witchcraft. I asked many locals, and they all unanimously said it was witchcraft. After asking many people near the explosion site, the matter gradually became clear.

The town of CHITUNGWIZA is about 20 kilometers from the capital, Harare. In this town, a person brought back a small dwarf, approximately 40-50 centimeters tall. This dwarf is a product of African witchcraft. It is said that this dwarf has magical powers and can do things ordinary people cannot. The dwarf could magically produce large amounts of US dollars, creating great wealth for its owner. After a long time, friction gradually developed between the dwarf and its owner. The dwarf complained that although it created great wealth for its owner, the owner was too harsh on it. The owner of the dwarf complained that the dwarf made excessive demands, not only asking for this and that but also, even more excessively, wanting to sleep with the owner's wife and daughter.

Unable to tolerate the dwarf's actions any longer, the owner finally decided to eliminate the dwarf. He went to a local high priest because the dwarf was a product of witchcraft and ordinary people could not kill it. After the owner of the dwarf agreed to pay a sum of money, the high priest agreed to help eliminate the dwarf. On the appointed day, the high priest arrived with several junior priests as agreed. The dwarf was brought before the priests. The high priest took a large machete and chopped off the dwarf's head. The owner's wife went back to get the money to pay the high priest. Just as she returned, a large explosion occurred in the house. All the priests present and the owner of the dwarf died, with human remains scattered everywhere.

After carefully investigating the scene, the police found no traces of gunpowder, nor any explosives similar to pressure vessels. This explosion case became a mystery. However, locals knew well that it was the result of witchcraft, that the high priest's power was insufficient to suppress the dwarf, leading to this tragedy.
