Wen Tianxiang's Birthday

According to the Collected Works of Wen Tianxiang: "In the third year of Duanping under Song Emperor Lizong, I was born on the second day of the fifth month at the zi hour. My grandfather dreamed that I rose on purple clouds, and named me Yun Sun. When I grew up, friends styled me Tianxiang. Later I was recommended as a tribute candidate; those who styled me changed it to Lüshan. When Lizong reviewed the examination essays and saw my name, he said: 'This is an auspicious sign of Heaven—a omen for the Song.' Friends then styled me Songrui, and that was how I was generally known."

So Wen Tianxiang was born on June 6, 1236, at the zi hour.
