On the Placement of Toilets in Commercial Yang Residences

In yang-residence feng shui, the position of the toilet is seldom discussed; here is a brief account. In general, the Ren-Zi-Gui and Qian-Hai directions are least favorable first; Kun, Zhen, and Xun are also not considered favorable. If there is truly no alternative these may be used slightly, but the direction must be one overcome by the sitting mountain — for example, if the sitting is Mao, Geng and Shen are in a rest-and-decline state; one may place the toilet at the Geng position, avoiding the earthly branch so as not to risk offending the Year Spirit in years that clash with Tai Sui. In addition, the Yellow Spring Sha directions are also unfavorable for a toilet and must be carefully determined, otherwise many strange illnesses may arise. The toilet must not sit on the incoming dragon vein of the house, nor directly behind it. In commercial apartment buildings, if one opens the door and sees the toilet, strange illnesses often follow, and the person whose corresponding Chinese zodiac sign matches will surely be affected. Ancient texts also note that a dung pit in front of the house tends to bring hemorrhoids; this no longer applies to modern multi-story buildings, but a toilet that presses on the incoming vein remains unfavorable. Broadly speaking, for a house sitting north and facing south, if there is no incoming vein from the north, a Gen-position toilet is best.
