Big Six Jade Algae Golden Ying Yin Dwelling Divination Method (I): Facing the Head
When the branches generate the stems, building a house foundation will bring blessings to the people — husband and wife, brothers, father and son, servants — filial, kind, and harmonious. This is a good foundation site.
When the branches move toward and generate the stems, filial and righteous conduct stands out in the ordinary, and blessings are especially extraordinary — truly wonderful.
Look at the base branch character: if it obtains a prosperous and mutual qi, then the feng shui is flourishing, the household is at its height, and fortune is excellent.

All of the above are judged only when prosperous and mutual; when in rest and prison, they do not apply by these rules.
Establish the facing according to the three combinations and six combinations among the stems and branches that are prosperous, mutually related, or generating.
For example, with Jia-Yin, Hai is a six-combination; Wu-Xu is a three-combination; Hai-Zi is generating; Yin-Mao is mutual. Take its prosperous Qian as the facing — this is a wonderful method.
Also take branch combinations, prosperous, mutual, generating and facing each other. If the facing does not fit these two methods, following the prior discussion is the wonderful method. Once the facing is determined, then examine the dragon, cave, sand, and water.
Note from Sanfu Fengyun: If we take the Yin dragon as an example, facing Hai, Zi, Yin, Mao, Wu, or Xu; and according to the formulae, also Bing, Kun, Shen, Geng, or You could be the facing — that would make eleven possible facings. This truly cannot be relied upon. One must determine the facing based on physical forms and liqi, and cannot divine it by these rules alone.
